Project Selection-My Decision

I have chosen to do the magazine project. I chose this because making a magazine is more typical for me because I enjoy reading and writing a magazine more than making a film. I possess the skills of having a background knowledge on sports which is what I will be writing my magazine on. I'll be writing a magazine on basketball. I will be working alone on this project because I like being more individual. I look forward to taking pictures for my magazine and researching many different facts about the current sports events. I will have pictures of people playing basketball for my cover and my main article will be about basketball.

Project Selection Film

Some aspects of film that may interest me are the wide variety of genres and ideas that you can put into a film. I really enjoy comedies like the movie Ferris Bueller that we watched in class. I was very interested in that movie which is a reason that the film would be a good project for me. I also enjoyed the Newsroom which gave me some ideas of what I could add into a film. I am very creative and give good ideas which would help me produce a film. Also I am determined to finish whatever I start which would help me with the project. One thing that might make the film project a challenge for me is that I am not very good at coming up with scripts. I would struggle with figuring out what the cast and I should say. This would be a problem because it would extend the timeline of the production of the film and the things on the script may not make sense. Overall I think that the magazine would be a better project for me personally rather than the film.

Project Selection Magazine

I thoroughly enjoy reading magazines. I especially enjoy reading sports magazines and articles. I feel that this personal enjoyment will help make this magazine project a great fit for me. I also grew up reading magazines. When I was younger had a monthly subscription to Sports Illustrated. I feel like this project may be a challenge for me because I have trouble writing long articles. My main problems with writing articles is that I can steer off topic very easily. Print journalism provides an interest to me because I like getting to know things about people or things that they are hiding. This was shown in the All the President's Men and Nixon. It was also shown in the Newsroom. This is all very interesting to me and I believe that I can get past my problem of struggling with writing long articles and staying on topic so I believe the magazine project will be a great fit for me,
